Good news. Summer is approaching and it is clear that the COVID vaccines are having a major impact on infection rates. Projecting even better conditions six months from now, your Board just decided to hold our 2021 Holiday Party at the Bali Hai Restaurant on December 14th. Save the date.
Our May General Member Zoom meeting was well attended. Our speaker was SDPEBA General Manager, Jonathan Hayes. He previewed SDPEBA’s excellent benefit offerings for Fiscal 2022 and announced their 2nd Annual Online Retiree Virtual Benefits Fair on Wednesday June 2nd. Be on the lookout for the SDCERS Retiree Health Open Enrollment 2021-2022 Booklet in the US mail the end of May/beginning of June. An REA recruitment flyer and membership application forms will be enclosed in this packet. We are making a special push to increase our membership this year. If you know other City retirees, ask if they belong to REA. If they don’t, please encourage them to learn more about us and join.
We always defer to the SDCERS Open Enrollment in June, so there will not be a General Member meeting. Join us on July 13th for an outstanding program about the USS Midway Museum.
