Greetings Fellow REA members!
Summer is fully here. We’ve had our first major heat wave and most COVID restrictions are gone. The County reports that as of June 14th our region passed 2.1 million vaccinated (with at least one vaccination) representing 75 percent of the 2.8 million County residents age 12 and older. San Diego County seems to be a leader in vaccine compliance and that makes me proud. As seniors, that also should make us feel more comfortable as we venture out. That, of course, assumes you are vaccinated.
You may be wondering when we might return to holding our REA General Member meetings in Balboa Park. We just checked with the City Park and Rec Department and they inform us that the City has not yet made plans to open its facilities to the public. We’ll keep you informed. COVID has caused your Board to pause a number of planned initiatives and we are looking forward to restarting them in the months ahead.
